El Salbanelo alias The Goblin

He was a little yougish man, bad-looking and stocky. He was dressed in red, he had bells at the corner of his hat and at the toes of his shoes.
He had small hands, dishevelled hair, misshapen feet. He was lame. He was always on his own and it seemed he flew. He was cheerful and spiteful.
He used to have a good time playing harmless tricks to anybody. At home, at work in the fields, in the hay-barns, at the well and the sheds everything it happenend with no reasonable explication was salbanelo’s handiwork.

  • In the morning they found the horse’s mane had been plaited:
this was certainly one of Salbanelo’s tricks.
  • El Salbanelo was chasing after me as I had stolen some fruits from the field of my nighbour. He ran after me to the entrance of my house and i’ve hardly been able to go inside.
